Owen McCausland, Rinuccio

Owen McCausland was born and raised in Saint John, NB. He is currently working towards completing a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Dalhousie University. Owen is a recent third prize winner at the inaugural Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio Competition and is also a member of the 2012-2013 COC Ensemble.

Owen’s recent opera credits include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (Centre for Opera Studies in Italy) and Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (Dalhousie Opera Workshop). Other operatic credits include Spoletta in Puccini's Tosca (Maritime Concert Opera), Orpheus in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld (Dalhousie Opera Workshop), and Don Juan in Massenet's Don Quichotte (Opera Nova Scotia).

This summer Owen will be performing Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi at the Opera on the Avalon program in Saint John’s NFLD. He will also be featured in two concerts at the Indian River Music Festival in PEI. Next year Owen will be covering several roles at the Canadian Opera Company and performing The Messenger in Verdi’s Trovatore, and 2nd Nazarene in Strauss’s Salome.

Michelle Siemens, Mezzo

Michelle Siemens is a mezzo-soprano entering her final undergraduate year of studies at the University of Toronto. Growing up in Victoria, BC, Michelle studied privately with Mr. Bernard Turgeon and since moving to Toronto has been the student of Dr. Darryl Edwards.
